One of the most interesting archaeological sites in the world and the breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast are the perfect recipe for an unforgettable tour! On the way to the Amalfi coast, stop at some scenic view points before reaching Positano, one of the most famous and charming towns along the coast, with its delightful white and pastel-colored houses. Along with the beautiful beaches, its ancient fishing port, the splendid majolica dome of the church of Santa Maria Assunta and artisan shops you will enjoy a taste of the "Dolce Vita". After a walking tour and some free time, on board of a shared public boat, we'll transfer you to Amalfi, a town that enjoyed a prestigious past when it was once a major naval power. The town features typical Mediterranean style architecture with houses piled one on top of the other. Here you can sample the local Limoncello drink in one of the many cafes' or visit the celebrated "Paradise Cloister" built in Arabian style that dates back to the thirteenth century. We leave Amalfi and following the road uphill, we will stop at another scenic viewpoint to enjoy the last magnificent view of this enchanting part of Italy. Last but not least we will visit the ancient ruins of Pompeii with a 2 hr walking tour conducted by our local expert guide. With memories that will last a lifetime, we say goodbye to this enchanting part of the world and make our way back to the eternal city.

Rome of the Caesars |

An afternoon to explore Rome. Passing by Piazza Barberini, with the Triton Fountain by Barberini, we proceed to Piazza Venezia, where you will see the imposing memorial to Victor Emanuel II, the first king of United Italy. The tour will then proceed to the Roman Forum, the old centre of the Imperial City, where the Senate House, the Basilicas and the Temples of the major Gods are located. After walking down the Via Sacra and passing by the Arch of Titus, you will visit the Coliseum, surrounded by impressive monuments such as the ruins of the Arch of Constantine the Great. The last stop on your tour will be the 5th century Christian Basilica of St. Peter in Chains, where you will see the world famous Statue of Moses by Michelangelo. Christian Rome -
Monday |

The focus of this tour (3 hours starting at 2:30 pm) is Christian Rome, with visits to St Mary Major, St John in Lateran and the Catacombs. Passing Piazza Barberini with the Triton Fountain by Bernini, we visit St. Mary Major, the most beautiful Basilica to Mary, Mother of Christ, with gorgeous mosaics and the relics of Jesus' cradle. We continue to St. John in Lateran where we stop for a visit. This is the Cathedral of Rome and was the first Papal residence. Inside there are masterpieces that range from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period. We stop at the Holy Stair then drive down the first part of the Appian Way where we have a view of the Domine Quo Vadis Chapel before reaching the Catacombs (Domitilla, St.Callisto or St. Sebastiano) whose ancient underground tunnels were the first burial places for Christians and Hebrews. The tour ends with a panoramic view of the Baths of Caracalla. Vatican - Tuesday |

Opt for either the morning or the afternoon to visit all of the most important sights of Vatican City with this unique guided tour and enjoy the added advantage of avoiding the line, get privileged entrance to the Museums (including entrance ticket and reservation fee for the Vatican Museums, headsets to facilitate hearing the guide and English speaking tour guide). Avoid the lengthy lines and explore one of the World's most extensive art collections with an expert local guide on this fascinating tour of the Vatican. Your guide will share the stories and secrets contained within the Museums' walls, pleasures originally meant for the exclusive enjoyment of the Pope. Experience Michelangelo's famous Creation of Adam with your own eyes as you explore the Sistine Chapel and wander through Raphael's Rooms. After taking in the Museums, be humbled by the imposing beauty of Saint Peter's Basilica, where you will encounter another of Michelangelo's masterpieces, La Pieta. For a fascinating finish, you will stop to admire the magnificent Saint Peter's Square, as your guide points out Bernini's ingenious use of optical illusion. The rest of the day is free for you to continue exploring Rome or for some rest and relaxation. |

Papal Audience -

This afternoon you have the opportunity to participate in a papal audience at St Peter's. Our journey takes us through the gardens of the Villa Borghese, past the Castel St. Angelo - formerly a papal fortress, to St. Peter's Square. Here, accompanied by the guide, we are admitted to the Papal Audience. After a message of hope given in a number of languages, his Holiness imparts his blessing. |
